Daniel’s Face

Lydia carries a rose
Then tosses it to the man
She desires.

Daniel catches this lofty throw,
A twinkle in his eyes
That ever compassionate
Smile on his lips.

Lydia begins dancing the dance
That makes Gypsies cry.
Tossing petals at Daniel’s feet.

Hoping he can see,
The passion in her heart;
The innocence of her face.

She sweeps her arms about her head,
Turning her body from side to side.

Laughter coming out of scarlet cheeks,
Wishing for more
Soft touch
Of Daniel’s hand.

Lydia falls upon the grass laid knoll
With hardly any breath.
The dimness of her eyes
Beholds the glow of Daniel’s face.

In Lydia’s vague thoughts,
Daniel takes her in his arms;
Kissing her moist lit brow.
