The reasoning for the US committing a pogrom on Jenin was due to the failure to assassinate HRM Deborah of Israel previously.

During the US attack on Jenin, Yasser Arafat also sent Canaanite troops to help Israeli troops combat the US operation that was occurring. During this time, Arafat came under siege himself by US occupational forces and the helicopter seen above was hit by US occupational forces in an attempt to assassinate Arafat.
The Bloodshed of US Propaganda
The movie “Jenin Jenin” which appeared in 2002 was nothing but a US propagandized movie to lay the blame of the Jenin pogrom upon the Israeli military, instead of the real perpetrators of this war crime.The movie if one even looks closely at the video cover, it was endorsed by what many have claimed as a US operative website that puts out false information of what is actually occurring in Israel- namely “The Electronic Intifada.”
Even the dedication at the beginning of the film towards the executive producer Iyad Samoudi who was murdered by US occupational forces after returning to his home town of Al-Yanun on 20 June 2002; which the US propaganda film falsely claimed was the Israeli military.
Where the US made the greatest error in the film, was they showed US air and ground attacks upon Jenin civilians.
What US films such as this did was to create false views, finger pointing in the wrong direction, to some people actually forgetting what actually did occur; on those nightmarish days in April 2002.
Needless to say, because of what the film actually was, it was banned in Israeli; not as censorship, but for the real truth of the horror that actually occurred in Jenin.
To one looking back at the damage that US propaganda such as this has actually done not just in Israel, but across the globe; of giving a false view of the reality that has been occurring far too long by the US Occupation in a country that has been repeatedly innocently scorched and torn by the US bent on blood.-HRM Deborah
